Body image Shame

It is deeply painful to feel that your body is wrong. Body image shame is suffocating and can take over your life.

If you have ever experienced

  • Body checking

    • Grabbing or squeezing parts of your body

    • Routinely looking at a certain body part, or a certain angle of your body in the mirror

    • Using measurements to check your body

  • Body image distress or spiraling

  • Avoiding the color or style of clothes you really want to wear because of negative body image

  • Negative or harsh body self-talk

  • Compulsively weighing yourself

  • Not wanting to be perceived

  • Avoiding going out of the house because of how you feel about your body

  • Avoiding socializing because of how you feel about your body

  • Judging other people’s bodies
